Delete your Herding Cats account

Last updated: October 1, 2026

This page explains how to delete your Herding Cats account, in the Herding Cats app or without it, what we delete, what your company keeps and why, and how long it takes. Your account was set up by the company you work with, so deleting it is a request that a person at Herding Cats completes, not a button that erases everything on the spot. Either way, it's done within 30 days.

1. Delete it in the app

In the Herding Cats app, go to Me → Settings → Privacy → Delete my account. The screen spells out what happens; tap Request account deletion and confirm. The app signs you out of that phone and stops its notifications straight away, and your request goes to Herding Cats support. There's nothing else you need to do.

2. Delete it without the app

Write to us through the support form and say you want your account deleted. Send it from the email address on your account; that's how we know the request is really yours. If you can't use that address any more, say so, and we'll confirm it's you another way before we delete anything.

3. What we delete

  • Your login: the email address and password you sign in with. After that, nobody can sign in as you.
  • Your personal details on your profile: your name, email, phone and photo, along with the personal travel details saved there, like your date of birth, home address, Known Traveler number and frequent-flyer numbers.
  • Your notification settings, and the push notification registrations for every phone you signed in on.
  • Your conversations with the Kitten, the app's AI assistant, and the files you attached to them.

4. What your company keeps, and why

Records of the events you worked stay with your company, without your personal contact details: which events you were staffed on, the travel and rooms booked for you, check-ins and time off. They are your company's event history. Payroll, budgets and next season's planning depend on them, and the company looks after them under its own policies. In that history you appear as a former staff member, with no name, email, phone or photo.

We tell your company about your request so they can update their staffing. Anything else they hold about you outside Herding Cats, or notes a coordinator wrote, is theirs to manage. Ask them directly.

Deleted data can stay in our encrypted backups until those backups expire on their regular schedule.

5. How long it takes

We complete every request within 30 days of receiving it, and we email you when it's done. Changed your mind? Write to us before then and we'll stop.

6. Just want the app off your phone?

Delete my app data, in the same place (Me → Settings → Privacy), is the lighter option. It removes what the app itself saved: the push registrations, the app's notification settings and everything stored on that phone. Then it signs you out. Your login stays, so you can sign back in any time. Deleting the app from your phone doesn't affect your account at all.
